The preliminary results from European Commission's public consultation on Electricity Market Design have been published. The first item that is listed as having received the backing from a large majority of stakeholders is the need for scarcity  pricing.

The team from Imperial College London that are partners in the IndustRE project have just issued a report, which demonstrates that flexibility will be the key to cost effective decarbonisation of the UK power market.
 

The 28^th Electricity Regulatory Forum (Florence Forum) happened during the 4^th and 5^th of June 2015 and aimed to discuss the Energy Union initiative and the implementation of the latest round of EU energy market legislation, namely the third energy package. Topics addressed included the Network Codes and Guidelines elaboration and especially for the IndustRE project, the challenges for market operation and integration of renewables.

An open letter signed by a wide range of actors from Europe's energy sector giving full support for the Energy Union action. The letter is targeted to the European Commission and it emphasises how flexible energy markets are essential to further energy policy in order to develop a new electricity market design.

General Motors wants you to know that it’s thinking about the environment. Today, the big-name car maker announced that it will soon use wind to power its manufacturing operations. GM has signed an agreement with Enel Green Power to procure 34 megawatts of wind power from 17 wind turbines for its 104-acre Toluca Complex in Mexico, the company said in a press release.
